When is the right time to move to assisted living?
The right time varies for everyone, but common signs include difficulty managing activities of daily living (ADLS), like bathing, dressing or medication management; feeling isolated or lonely; safety concerns at home; or when family caregivers become overwhelmed. The key is considering the move while you can still actively participate in the decision and enjoy the community lifestyle that assisted living offers. Our team is here to help in identifying your needs, exploring your options and finding an assisted living option that fits your vision for the future.
What is the difference between independent living and assisted living?
Independent living is designed for active seniors who can live independently but want the convenience of maintenance-free living and social opportunities. Assisted living provides additional support with activities of daily living, like bathing, dressing, and medication management, while still promoting independence and personal choice. At The Arlington, we offer a seamless transition between these levels of care as your needs change.
Can I personalize my living space?
Yes, our apartment homes are designed to feel like home, and residents are encouraged to personalize their space with their own belongings and décor.
Will I be able to maintain my independence?
Absolutely! Our philosophy is that getting help with ADLsdoesn’t mean sacrificing your lifestyle. All residents of our assisted living community have full access to our wide variety of amenities, activities, dining venues, and services as independent living residents.
What if I need additional care?
The Arlington is a Life Plan Community, also known as a Continuing Care Retirement Community (CCRC), offering assisted living and memory care, as well as independent living. short-term rehabilitation and short-term stays, on the same campus. This means you can receive the level of care you need without having to leave the community you’ve come to call home. Plus, with our Type B Modified LifeCare® contract, you’ll have guaranteed access to higher levels of care at reduced rates, keeping your costs predictable and peace of mind constant.
The Arlington Difference
Our award-winning assisted living is specially licensed to provide a higher level of care than many other communities. With our Extended Congregate Care license (ECC), you’ll have access to the therapies and medical services you need, right here in the comfort of your own home, including short-term rehabilitation and short-term stays. And with 24/7 on-site nurses who get to know you on a personal level, it feels like being cared for by family – without the burden.
